It's been a good while since I posted a personal post. But this one is appropriate for the holiday. So in the spirit of All Hallows Eve, here is a little story that I found to be a good one that happened to me. It's centered around the "Demon House". Is the curse of the film real or not?
Are you familiar with the film? If so, wonderful! If not, here is a little background for you.
After buying a haunted home in Indiana over the phone, sight unseen, paranormal investigator Zak Bagans and his crew (Ghost Adventures) are unprepared for the demonic forces that await them at the location referred to as a "Portal to Hell." The documentary recounts the previous owners, the Ammons' story, and explores claims that the home where the family once lived was besieged by more than 200 demons.
I have been a fan of Ghost Adventures for a very, very long time. And when I heard about this documentary, it was intriguing. Especially since this film comes with a warning... it states to "view at your own risk". Why is that? Because it is known that this film is cursed and whoever watches it will have consequences.
I first heard about this documentary after listening to one of my favorite podcasts on Spotify titled "Internet Urban Legends" where the hosts, Loey and Eleanor, set up camp in the center of the story, unearthing evidence, considering theories, and questioning everything.
Check out the podcast episode for yourself by clicking the link above and see what you think. After I listened to this, I had to go watch the film for myself and see what it was all about.
There is a message at the very beginning of the film that states ...
WARNING:
The following documentary may not be suitable for all audiences. This film shows real people, places, and events involving alleged demonic possession. Demonologists believe that demons can attach themselves to you through other people, objects, and electronic devices.
View at your own risk.
That alone had me very intrigued because I am a huge fan of the paranormal and horror genre. After watching it one afternoon, I have my own story to go with this. It feels that this film did affect me.
Bagans claimed he became so ill that he couldn't leave his room for eight days. He said witnesses and experts were hospitalized. Crew members quit or were fired.
"This film is cursed," he said during it.
The warning message states that by watching this documentary, you could possibly be possessed by a demon or demonic activity. I don't think anyone really wants that. I know I don't. But I couldn't help it, I had to watch this. After all, who doesn't like a scary movie?
So all in all, the documentary was pretty interesting. I'm a huge fan of Zac so that kept my interest.
My experience watching this film was something I believe that really was a bit evil from this documentary. I noticed that at the beginning of it, I felt fine and everything seemed normal. Toward the end of the film, I started to feel different...a little ill actually with a headache. I started to become irritated and aggravated out of nowhere. I began yelling and getting upset out of the normal. I just felt angry and upset.
Once the film was over, it took a couple of hours to feel like me again. Was I cursed? Was something from the documentary trying to come through? I do not know. But I believe that there was something strange going on. I haven't felt that same feeling since those few hours on that afternoon. It was strange I must say.
Have you ever felt a strange occurrence take over? Or had any paranormal encounters? Have you watched the movie and experienced anything? Let me know. I would love to hear.
