I am sure you have been hearing about the whole Konjac Sponge craze. I hear and see things about it daily. I had always wondered what was so special about these? Are they magically sponges? How do they work? What do they do?
If you haven't seen or heard of them before, this is mine I received.

There is actually a variety of them to choose from. However, I was given the Bamboo Charcoal one for this review. So what exactly is this crazy looking product?

The directions say to run it under water until it become soft. So that is exactly what I did. It instantly became soft in a couple of seconds. I didn't know what to expect. I assumed it would have to sit and soak a bit to get flexible but it was almost instantly.

Then it said to rub on your face in a circular motion. I was trying to read on the package if you used it with anything or not. But it didn't say. So I just used it plain on a clean face. I found out later after looking up some other reviews on this that you could use it with a cleanser or just alone as I did.

So once you you are finished, rinse out the sponge again with water and squeeze out. Hang to dry. This product can last about two to three months. Once it starts to look as though it is tearing a bit, it's time to throw away and purchase a new one.

So my thoughts on this interesting sponge? Well, I must say it was an interesting experience. When the sponge got wet, it felt like a squishy marshmallow sort of thing. If that even makes any sense LOL. But it was very soft. When I applied it to my skin and started to rub around, cleansing my face, it was soft and did not feel uncomfortable in the least of sorts.
I did not notice any fragrance which I shouldn't have because it claims to be fragrance-free. So it passed that test. After I was finished, my skin did feel smoother. A lot smoother. I have been meaning to exfoliate for a few days now and have been really noticing the rough spots. But I was really surprised that something so gentle was able to take care of all those issue for me.
So overall what would I say? I would say this product is pretty good. It works as promised and is very gentle, even for those with the most sensitive skin. I love that it's vegan and all natural. And for the price, it's not going to break the bank to replace when needed.

ReplyDeleteInteresting product. I tried one from Sephora (their brand) and it fell apart after about two uses. Not sure if I did something wrong or what! These are cool because of the different types.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
