Got Textbooks Need Cash? Here's How To Put College Books To Work For You

Going to college is one of the most exciting, yet scariest things I ever experienced. New adventure, new state, new start to life...everything that I was craving and couldn't wait for. College was the first step to a brand new me! As much as I was looking forward to all these wonderful new things, I wasn't looking forward to all the new expenses I would be having to pay for as well.

Expenses like college textbooks. Can we say insanely over-priced books that almost never get used and then yet, aren't eligible for buy back? Or if they are, you spend $200 on a book that you maybe touched once to move out of the way and they only want to buy it back for $10. Not something any college student likes to look forward to.

When I was in college, that was the only option. You either sucked it up and sold back your book for just pennies on the dollar. Or you kept it to use as a paper weight in the years to come. Well, times have changed since then and now there is a new way of doing things.

College students have a new opportunity to do something different these days. Instead of buying and selling books, they have the option of just renting their textbooks. Isn't that an awesome concept? If this were available when I was in college, I would have totally taken this option and rented my books. offers just that for the college student who needs books but doesn't want the commitment. There are many reasons why renting textbooks are such a convenient than buying them.
Here is some of the perks as to what has to offer:

-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices

-free shipping both ways

-can highlight in the textbooks

-flexible renting periods
-donates to Operation Smile with each textbook rented
-plus many other available perks as well

Here's how it works in perspective!

If you have textbooks in your hand and want some extra cash, why not consider renting them out to other students who need them? With you can do just that.

RentBack is new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students... which is awesome because it makes them 2-4x more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options! (selling their books back at the end of the semester) Isn't that awesome?!

And if you need more of a reason to check out their site, CampusBookRentals also helps donate to charities such as Operation Smile which is an international children's medical charity that heals children's smiles, forever changing their lives.

So head over and check out their site. With back to school from the holiday break coming up, what have you got to lose?

  1. Sending some blog hop love.
Also, this is interesting. Textbook costs rip me apart at the start of each term!!

Now following on gfc :) come say hi!

  2. I haven't used that particular site to get my books from, but there are several out there that allow for renting, even cheaper than the school, i.e. I got a science book from another site for 49 bucks when the school wanted 98 (to rent used). So there's definitely money to be saved in renting books :) Great post!
