Wordless Wednesday - The Gender

I had my big ultrasound today where we find out if the baby will be a boy or a girl. Well, if you know me, I don't ever want to know the baby's gender. So I had the technician put it in an envelope again and here is my Wordless Wednesday photo:

I will be sharing the photos I got from the ultrasound with my 20 week bump update this week. Look out for those!

  1. How fun!

I saw someone had a cake decorator make a cake the result color. They had a party. When they cut into the cake everyone got to see if the cake was blue or pink.

    1. We actually did that with our last baby. We cut the cake to reveal the gender and it was so much fun. Here is the link if you are interested to see how we did it: http://www.xoxorebecca.com/2012/10/and-gender-is.html

    1. :) My husband wants to know but I never do so i make him wait. He didn't go to the ultrasound with me cause that avoided any peeking :) I just love the surprise. I never feel anxious to know what it is

  4. I do think I preferred not knowing, though it made it harder to prepare.

    1. I've actually never wanted to know. I'm the type that loves all the neutrals and no matter what, still buys yellows and duckies for the baby :) I think that helps because then I am prepared no matter what without feeling like I need to be gender specific

Lovely to meet you Rebecca and thanks for linking at MY MENO! This is a fabulous idea and I think it is marvellous that more and more young mothers are reverting to the 'what it is, is what is' approach. How exciting! Blessings, YAM xx

    1. Thank you :) I love the surprise as well. I love doing something more special than just "finding out at the ultrasound".

  6. I love all your pregnancy updates Rebecca, this one is so tantalising yet so exciting, I think it's a great idea to wait until the birth day to find out the gender since you now have one boy and one girl.

    1. Thank you Matt :) Although, I think we are going to go with another reveal party just because they are so much fun and I loved doing it last year. But we will wait like we did before and have it right before the baby is born to find out

    1. Yes I am planning on it. With so many of my friends here that have never been to one, they are all excited to help participate in this party. I won't be asking for gifts...it will simply be a really fun party to find out with everyone. But I'm waiting again til almost the end to do it. Probably have it in Dec

  9. Love this idea of an envelope. Of all my 7 pregnancies, we chose to not find out the gender for only 3 of them. Of course, it was for the last 3 - :). Thanks for sharing.
