DIY Kid’s Paint

The other day, my daughter and I did a fun craft together where we made our own paint for her. The great thing about this paint is, it’s non-toxic and made from items in your kitchen. It’s a super simple easy method and no nasty chemicals. She helped me put it all together. It was a team effort.

Pour the water, salt, and flour into a container or bowl large enough for mixing

Then stir everything in the bowl until it is mixed well.
*Note – I noticed my mixture was getting too thick so I added about another 1/8 cup of water until I found a nice “paint-like” consistency*

Step Three

Start adding your food coloring to each jar. You can use as many drops as you like to get a desired color. My daughter used quite a lot of drops and got some very vivid colors. Then start to stir. I let her stir for a while and then I finished it making sure all the mixture and colors were well combined.

Step Five

Once completely mixed, they should come out looking like little jars of paint.

Last, grab a paintbrush and a piece of paper and let the children go at it.
My daughter loved this project and then went crazy using it all up!
