Hi to all of Rebecca's Let Them Eat Cake readers! I'm Ashley from Bottles, Diapers... Babies, and I am excited to be here to take part in celebrating Rebecca's wedding anniversary. Today I am sharing how my wonderful husband proposed to me.
For quite awhile after getting engaged people would go up to him and tell how sweet and romantic he was because of it.
It was July 27th 2009. A normal day, just Austin and I at home while Blake was working.
When he got home from work that day, he ran up to his parents’ house, only a minute up the road. He came back home, he went back to his parents’ house with a piece of paper. Then home and back again. No lie… home, back to his parents’ and home again*.
Austin woke up from her nap on the couch on his final return. He took her down to her room saying that they had a present for me. I stood in the kitchen cutting up potatoes for supper wondering why I was getting a present, not my birthday and not our anniversary.
When they came into the kitchen Blake was carrying Austin (then 4 months) dressed in a white onesie with the words “Will You Marry My Daddy?”. My ring was tied to it with a ribbon.
*He later asked why I hadn't asked why he was going back and forth to his parent's so much. I just figured their computer wasn't working and he was fixing it, nothing new. In reality he was having difficultly getting the iron on transfer to print right, and wasn't realizing it until he got back to his parent's house for fear that I would go into the computer room to see what he was doing.
