Seriously? We have made it to week thirty-eight of this pregnancy. Just last weekend, you saw my post how we didn't think we were going to be making it this far. The nurse in the hospital this past weekend really thought we would have a baby here before Halloween. Turns out, Baby Bean is being a bit stubborn :)
That's ok though. I thought it would have been cool to have a Halloween baby but looks like he will actually be coming this month which is the month we were expecting the little guy to appear.
Only two weeks left to go and of course, I have some news about my doctor's appointment today that may change your mind on the two weeks left. Seems as though it may be this week. Actually, it may be in a couple of days! WOW...thinking that in a couple of days we will have a baby here is mind blowing a bit. It's so exciting, it's so scary....it's everything I can't even begin to describe.
So here is what happened at the doctor's this morning:
Since I'm at the 38 week mark, he went ahead and checked me for progression in all this. I am now at 3cm dilated and he stripped some membranes saying this should speed things up. I was having contractions so he hooked me up the the monitors for 20 mins. After I was ready to be checked on, I only had one big contraction and many small ones. So they averaged 10-20 mins apart.
So he said he doesn't like to say things to give false hope, but he believes we could possibly now be having the baby by Saturday. So in two days. I have to be at least 4cm to be admitted into the hospital and seeing that I am now three, doesn't seem like much longer til I can get there and get this thing really going.
It's just a waiting game now. He didn't even want to schedule my next appointment because he doesn't see me making it to next week at all. So it really looks like there will be a baby this week. My daughter was born at 38 weeks so there could be a pattern here. Now I'm just trying to get everything prepared. The house picked up, laundry going, making sure I have everything. Which I feel so unprepared but yet not at the same time.
So let's move onto the weekly update photos:
How far along? 38 weeks pregnant! (9 months) Baby due November 15.
Total weight gain/measurements: I gained 2 pound since last update {+24 all together}
Size Of Baby: Pumpkin (about 20 inches long, 7 lbs)
Size Of Baby: Pumpkin (about 20 inches long, 7 lbs)
Sleep: Getting sleep. I'm getting lots of sleep more at the end of this pregnancy then I have in my life I feel.
Maternity clothes: Of course!
Stretch marks? I have now gotten some but they aren't horribly bad. Mostly around the surgery incision.
Best moment this week: Knowing that the baby will be here very soon.
Miss anything? Not having anxiety attacks in my chest and walking normal and not having sharp pains all the time.
Movement: Yes, the baby moves quite often.
Cravings?: No,
nothing really. Strange, huh?
Anything making you queasy or sick? I just seem to throw up when I have a bad contraction now.
Labor signs: Dilating, lots of cramping, cervical pains, back pains, very frequent urination, increased fatigue, boob leakage.
Symptoms: I've been getting the symptoms listed above as well as leg cramps in my thighs a lot lately. Like I've ran a marathon.
Belly button in or out? It seems like it's pretty much on the verge of being out now.
Happy or moody most of the time: I've been feeling more happy this week. Not as emotional.
Baby related purchases?: Yes, we finally purchased some baby items this week. I got a diaper changing station organizer, swaddler, nose syringe.
Looking forward to: The baby's arrival. Looks like it could be any day now!
