THURSDAY 09.20.12
If you don't hear me say this enough, I'm saying it again. Today marks a new milestone is my pregnancy update. I've hit thirty-two weeks which marks the eighth month in pregnancy. I'm excited to be so far along and not that much longer to go. Eight weeks to be exact. However, if you read the post directly before this one, you would also know about all my fears I have starting to experience as well. However, it's nice to read the comments and advice everyone is putting out there on that topic for me.
An update on how I have been doing. Most of you know of my appendectomy I just went through a few weeks ago while in my 30 weeks of pregnancy. I'm still out on recovery leave however, I return back to work on Monday. It has been a really nice few weeks not being at work. It also felt I would never recover. The pain was so bad at first especially with little baby bean here constantly moving and punching me right where the appendix was.
Now that I had my staples removed almost a week ago, the recovery has been faster and easier. I am up now a lot. I'm doing everything pretty much all on my own without needing assistance. Last week I still needed help with almost everything but was doing some on my own. This week, I took a shower all on my own, I am learning how to bend and move without pulling or feeling much pain. Though if I need something off the floor and someone is around, I have them grab it for me.
I have done some laundry {just wash and dry..not carry any baskets. That's still in restrictions} but my five year old daughter helps. She helps put the clothes in the washer and hands them to me and I put them in the dryer. I also have loaded and unloaded the dishwasher this week. I've been up getting myself food and drinks. Speaking of that, I feel I have been such a pig lately. My appetite grew so much and I feel I have been eating a lot this week then any other week.
I was supposed to have the husband take me out and let me drive to get used to using my leg muscles that way so I am prepared to go to work Monday. However, I slept all morning and now he is taking a nap before he has to go pick up our daughter from school. So maybe after that. I want to be able to turn and look behind me and just mentally prepared you know? I know it's petty but I want to. I haven't forgotten how to drive LOL just want to do it with still being slightly sore since my drive to and from work is two hours each day.
I had to go into the doctor's on an emergency call on Monday because I noticed I started developing a rash. Not just any rash, a really bad one that spread everywhere on my legs and things. I've never had a rash before and I read on the medication for the antibiotics if I start seeing a rash, to contact immediately. It was very painful, peeling off my skin and burning, itching..etc...miserable. So they got it under control and I am a lot better now and it's going away.
I know, I always seem to make these updates so long. So let's move onto the photos and other fun facts:
If you missed my weekend update, you know I was really excited to receive our second baby gift. The first one was a gift bag with an outfit, some blankets and some diapers and things. This time, we got some baby gear. The stroller, car seat and pack-n-play.
How far along? 32 weeks pregnant! (8 months) Baby due November 15
Total weight gain/measurements: I gained 3 pounds since last update {+17 all together}
Size Of Baby: Squash (16.5 inches long, 3.5 lbs)
Size Of Baby: Squash (16.5 inches long, 3.5 lbs)
Sleep: It has been going better. I'm getting some sleep finally.
Maternity clothes: Mostly wearing all maternity dresses now. Still blazing hot outside.
Stretch marks? It looks like I finally got a few. I think some are from my surgery too.
Best moment this week: Receiving our second baby gift.
Miss anything? Not being fully back to myself yet.
Movement: Since
the surgery, I have actually felt the baby a lot more. He/she has these "rolling" or "pressure" movements I feel a lot now.
Cravings?: This week I really have been wanting pizza.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No, finally nothing that I can think of.
Labor signs: Not at all. Baby isn't coming anytime soon.
Symptoms: Been feeling a couple pains that seem to feel a bit like Braxton hicks contractions.
Belly button in or out? In. I've never been an outtie even while pregnant.
Happy or moody most of the time: Been pretty happy.
Baby related purchases?: We haven't made a purchase ourselves yet. I'm excited when we do.
Looking forward to: My ultrasound next week. I can't wait to see little baby bean again. And of course when I'm feeling back to myself again.

Wow!! I can't imagine the fear of having your appendix taken out while that far along pregnant. Oh my goodness! It sounds from your post like you are doing ok though. What an ordeal to go thru. Just like 5 or 6 more weeks and you'll be holding you baby. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're doing so well; you look great! It's funny my last 8 weeks of pregnancy seemed to go by so slow and so fast all at the same time! LOL

Wow! surgery while pregnant! So glad all is well now! I just had mine out too, but mine was able to be done laparascopically. From the looks of your scar at 33 wks you had yours done the old fashioned way! Congratulations on your soon to be born little one!
