Me, Myself & I {September Edition}

TUESDAY 09.18.12

I'm linking up for the first time for this hop! I love finding new blog hops to get out there and explore! The questions being asked are:

1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
My most favorite thing is going shopping. I love that as a great way to feel better. Shopping therapy. But when I can't do that, I actually go into the bathroom and put on makeup and make myself up to look completely beautiful. It seems to make me feel better even when I can't stop crying while doing it.

 2. If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
Uh duh!!!! Many of you know how completely obsessed with Marie Antoinette I am so hands down, 18th century France in Versailles being pampered with beautiful fashion, treats, shoes, and amazing hair for the time. Of course, I wouldn't want to be around for the outcome. We all know how that ended.

3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I guess it would have been a few years ago, I think 2009, I decided to dress up as OctoMom for the company Halloween party. I don't have any photos anymore. But it was inspired by this costume from back then

4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
Sadly, they are all related to foods or drinks.
One: I cannot have two foods served on the same plate together. Every food must be on their own plate. Nothing can touch.
Two: I cannot drink out of the same glass twice. Every time I take a sip, I move the glass around. Once it is empty I must have another glass if I want more to drink.
Three: I cannot touch any food with my hands. I eat everything with a fork and knife. Even french fries.
Four: I cannot eat something else once I started eating an item. For example...if I have mashed potatoes and steak, if I take a bite out of the mashed potatoes, I cannot touch the steak until the potatoes are completely finished.
Five: I cannot drink out of plastic cups. They must be either paper or glass. Something about the plastic feels strange to me when I drink from it.
Now tell me I'm not OCD when it comes to eating and drinking. I have been this way all my life. And it really only applies to food and drinks. I'm pretty calm with OCD with everything else....for the most part.

5. What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Stop being unsocial and start being social. Become happy with who you are. Get out and enjoy being 16 and don't let your teenage years just go by without any fun. Go to dances and parties. Make friends and enjoy being you. Don't be scared of life, live life!

  2. I love all of these answers, your advice to 16 year old you in particular is great, I'm with you on how cool it would be to have been royalty in Versailles before the revolutions started, great post Rebecca, going as Octomom for Halloween was pretty genius too haha!

  4. This is great! I need to link up with this, too :)

I, too, love to put on makeup when I'm upset. Sometimes it's the only way to stop crying - I hate to ruin the makeup by crying.

    Love the octomom costume!

Yes, you are totally OCD about eating lol ;)

Thanks for linking up with the GtKY hop!!

  5. Hahahaa OctoMom! I am similar with my foods, I don't like for them to touch at all. I feel like the flavors will blend and I won't like it! I'm already the pickiest eater so that's the last thing I need! :)

  8. Hahaha! When I was younger I was like that with my food too! One food for one plate. My grandpa bought me this plate that had divisions so that was ok.

  9. Lol so basically your a bit food OCD? I have the same tendencies! So when you go out for dinner, the sides can't be on the same plate as the main meal? I used to hate when my food touches. I still do, but I'm starting to like potatoes mixed with corn! Anyway, I hope you're having a good day!

  14. That Octomom costume is hilarious!!

I am not that OCD about food but I am about other things. I get super OCD about how clean our dishes are. My grandma unloaded our dishwasher the other day and put it on the counter and I FREAKED OUT lol. We all have our quirks!

  15. Hey Rebecca. Thanks for stopping by my blog hop at http://icreatepurtythangs.blogspot.com. That's funny about your food ocd. As far as food goes, anything goes for me. It's even probable that I have passed the 5 second rule. :) ....more than once.
