twenty-three weeks

Happy Friday Lovelies! I'm 23 weeks along in my pregnancy as of yesterday. I had my 23 week appointment and all went well. No complaints, no worries, nothing to even think the slightest of. So yea for some smooth sailing huh? I go back in three weeks for my 26 week appointment and my glucose test. Fun fun fun...

The baby's heartbeat went down slightly yesterday from the other times I have gotten to hear it. It's always been at 150 beats per minute. Now, it's at 145 beats. Which is nothing to worry about. Just decided to breathe slower I guess :)

I talked to the doctor because like I've told you guys, I have what they call a "Pillow Placenta" so still no baby moving or kicking or anything. Just feels like I have a fat beer belly there. The doctor told me it would probably be another 7-10 weeks before I start feeling any movement so around 30 weeks {7-8 months along give or take.) So I have that to look forward to. Until then, just big belly, baby is measuring perfect, heartbeat sounds perfect, just can't feel it to know it's there. Eventually I will. he said once there is no more room, I should start feeling it. Right now, I have too much pillow space and so baby can do all it wants to me and I can't feel a thing. I'm sure it's active. Maybe doing some karate or kick boxing. Who knows, right?

So the concept of the gender reveal party keeps coming up a lot lately. I had the theme set at bumble bees but now torn between that and team blue/team pink themed. My friend and mom hosting the party thinks the team theme would be really cute. I found some super adorable ideas for that to decorate and do. Seems like it would be really cute and fun. I thought about asking people to wear the color shirt that they think the gender would be. And decorate half the room pink and the other half blue. I'm leaning more and more toward that idea. What do you guys think? Want to take a guess also at what it might be? My sidebar has a poll. What do you think it's going to be....boy or girl?

Here is baby belly at twenty-three weeks

How far along? 23 weeks {5 months}
Total weight gain/measurements: I gained a pound from last week so now a total of 10 pounds.
Maternity clothes: Yes indeed. Love them. So comfy
Stretch marks? Nope. I never got them with my first pregnancy so none so far.
Best moment this week: A friend of mine told me she is sending a diaper cake and I love those. I make them myself but it's always so much fun to receive one. Can't wait to get it and show pictures.
Miss anything? Sleeping and breathing normal. Ever since the day I found out I was pregnant, I have not gotten a proper night's sleep. And I miss sleep. And yea, gong up and down those stairs makes me feel I'm having the worst time breathing. Damn second floor.
Movement: No still no movement yet. Doctor said not til I'm around 30 weeks (see above in description if curious)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really anything that didn't when I wasn't pregnant. Melted cheese has to be the biggest thing that has always made me feel like throwing up and still does. {I think this will be the same every week unless it really changes}
Gender: Surprise surprise! We will find out in October at the reveal party.
Labor signs: Nope.
Symptoms:Have started to feel small amounts of Braxton Hicks contractions. Maybe two days this week. But it went away fast.
Belly button in or out? In.
Happy or moody most of the time: This has been a better week. Things in life are starting to feel happier and look up. So I'm glad for that. I hate being sad.
Looking forward to: Nothing really exciting. Just the weekend because I don't work weekends so it's nice to be home and not at work.

  1. I dunno, both theme sound really cute!!

    You look so great, I am sooo jealous. I am massive lol.

    I didn't feel my daughter move until 30 weeks or so, I'm wondering if I had pillow placenta too and they didn't notice? Hmmmm.

  4. Loving the idea of the team blue/team pink gender reveal party. It would be a good idea to have party-goers show up in the color shirt they think the baby will be. Glad everything else good. Know that you're looking forward to that 30 week mark so you can feel the baby move!
