Welcome to a new segment that I like to call paranormal tales

Every Sunday evening/Monday, a new story will be featured that had been submitted to be told about personal paranormal experiences. So to start off the first story for this new thread, Chrissy from ALilDashofDiva has offered to share one of her stories. So it begins titled

Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board

I have always believed in ghosts and the paranormal. I can remember experiencing things that just didn’t add up logically when I was a kid and that has carried through even as an adult. I don’t know if there is a reason for all the activity I have witnessed or if it is just random but I do know that I am not the only one who has seen and experienced paranormal events in almost every single home I have lived in.

I went to this slumber party in elementary school; there were probably 8-10 girls. We all decided to play Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board. I don’t know if you are all familiar with this game but I will explain the gist of it. One person lies on the floor. Everyone circles around that person with at least one person on each side of them and one at the head and feet. You put only your index fingers under them and you chant this ‘light as a feather stiff as a board’. The story goes that the person will levitate without much effort from the people sitting around them. I don’t know where this ‘game’ came from but I do know that the girl who was in the middle DID levitate and it scared the holy %&$# out of every single one of us. She was a few inches off the ground and we all removed our hands and there she stayed for about a minute or two then she dropped to the ground. At that point we were all so freaked out; no one really knew what had happened or what to do. The girl got up and ran to the bathroom and puked for a while.

I remember going home and telling my mom what had happened and she called our Pastor’s wife who came over and talked to me and prayed. I don’t know if that game opened a door, or if I was just meant to see and experience the things I have since experienced…but that particular experience freaked me out for a really long time, and still does as a matter of fact.

Not long after that, I had a friend sleeping over at my house. We had stayed up super late and were sleeping in the living room. My mom had framed pictures or art on the wall above the couch and I remember if someone slammed the door the frame would rattle a little. Never enough to need to re- center the frame or fix it or anything. And it never just shook for the hell of it. My friend and I were watching tv and everyone else was in bed. We were both laying on the couch and next thing we know, the frame flew off the wall. Now, you would think if it was going to get rattled and fall off its hook it would just slide straight down behind the couch right? Wrong. It came off the hook and landed on top of us. Freaked out yet? Good, me too!

crackAfter that, we moved the picture and had it leaning up against the coffee table and then we decided to sleep on the floor, nowhere near the frame. We fall asleep and then CRASH! The frame falls over onto the carpeted floor and shattered all over my friend. Now, first off. The frame was leaning the opposite direction of how it fell. Second, it was on carpet, it doesn’t make any sense for it to slide or for it to SHATTER from falling on carpet. We were up from that point on. No way was either of us sleeping. We cleaned up all the glass and just kind of sat there till morning.

I don’t know what it was in my house that night, but whatever it was wasn’t happy about something. I honestly don’t remember anything else happening during the rest of the time we lived in that house, but we moved to California about a year later.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

That is one crazy story. I can’t imagine being in that situation at all. I would have been completely freaked out. At both things. The girl levitating and the picture shattering. Something was really not happy at all and wasn’t scared of showing off either!

Great story Chrissy. Thank you so much for sharing. If you have a story to share and tell, please contact me at its.just.rebecca{at}gmail{dot}com
