Six Word Saturday

I can’t believe this post got deleted after it was up and then somehow got deleted and took a while to type. I’m frustrated as hell.

Anyway, I’m going to type it once again. Pissed that I have to, but I want to.

My six words for today are:

FINISHING UP PRESCHOOL SCHOOL SUPPLY SHOPPING

After running around to three different stores to find everything on my daughter’s school supply list and exactly $80.00 for supplies for a four year old to go to her first day of preschool, the list is finally finished. I really hope Kindergarten next year doesn’t cost this much nor has nearly as much school supplies to buy as well. It was a headache. I had to run around to Target, Walmart, and Michaels and finally found everything she needed.

This is what a 4 year old’s school supply list for preschool stated she needed this year:

  • Two Erasers

  • One Small Chalk Board

  • One Box of Washable Markers

  • One Bottle of Hand Sanitizer

  • One Box of Baby Wipes

  • Twelve #2 Pre-Sharpened Pencils

  • One Pencil Sharpener

  • Two Boxes of Crayola Colored Pencils

  • Two Boxes of Crayola Crayons

  • One Crayola Water Color Paints

  • One Ream of White Copier Paper

  • One Package of Paper Plates

  • One Pair of Scissors

  • Two Bottles of White Elmer's Glue

  • One Small Plastic Pencil Box

  • Two Packs of Incentive Stickers

  • One Plastic Rubbermaid Container with Handles

  • Four Tempera Paint Bottles of Assorted Colors

  • Six Containers of Assorted Play-doh

  • One Package of Pipe Cleaners

  • Package of Paint Brushes

  • One Ball of Yarn in Primary Colors

  • One Package of Ball Point Pens

  • Two Glue Sticks

  • One Package of Construction Paper

  • One Package of Lunch Sacks

  • One Small Backpack with Wheels

  • One Family Picture

  • Crib Sheet

  • Pillow

  • Blanket

  • Change of Clothes

Thank goodness it was tax free weekend going on right now and I only had to spend $80.00…..if I had to pay tax, that price would have been a bit more and I didn’t want to pay anymore. I think $80 is enough for school supplies for preschool.

My daughter starts school Monday (08-15-11) and she and I are both excited about it. I can’t wait for her to go. We had orientation last week and they went through the entire process and in preschool, she will have homework and be learning five different subjects a day. They will be teaching her Science, Math, English, Reading, and Health.

We were also informed that by the end of September, she will be reading on her own and by December, she will be able to add and subtract numbers. So I’m really excited and can’t wait. That way when she goes to Kindergarten, she will know everything I think there will be to know. And hopefully smarter then some of the other kids. But that’s still a year away and so we need to start at step one first.
