The first day of school is in a week. August 15th around here and my little girl will being her first day of preschool. I'm so excited to go supply shopping with her. I have her list and this weekend is tax-free shopping weekend so that's when I plan on hitting the stores.
I think its a little stupid that they have tax free weekend the 12-14th and then school starts the 15th. I see this as a shopping craze for all the parents in town and running around with their heads cut off to grab everything.
That's why I decided to go Friday during my lunch break to grab almost everything while it is still stocked and cheap and during the day while people are still at work. Then after work, I'll pick her up from daycare and take her to Target so she can pick out her backpack. I can almost guarantee you she will choose either Transformers, Spider-man, Iron Man, or Captain America. All those are her heroes. She's such a tomboy.
We have to go to Open House this Wednesday to meet her teacher and the check out what will be going on. The good part is, we already know her teacher and the atmosphere since this is the same facility she has been going to for the past four years now but she will be moved up to the preschool room and doing a ton of more learning then she already has been while there. She's happy because all her friends she has grown up with at daycare will still be with her. So this will not be a hard adjustment for her at all. Which makes mommy and daddy happy.
So I am taking Wednesday off to go do this along with a few other errands that need to be done that I can't do during the work week.
My most favorite part of this whole experience is the graduation at the end of the year. I think they have it either the end of April or beginning of May. But they do a real graduation for the kids and its totally adorable. I can't wait to see my little girl graduating preschool and then going off to kindergarten. She's such a bright girl. I have absolutely no worries!

My daughter started the Pre-Kindergarten Program yesterday. It helps transition the children in this district for the rules in the school district... a great program I have to say. We all actually took it better than what I thought we would. You can check out my blog for the details of the day if you'd like. I'm glad your daughter will be going through an easy trasition. I think that makes it easier on both the child and the parents.
