Well, for me I would have to say:
Boyz II Men "I'll Make Love To You"
And no, not for any sexual memories at all. When this song came out, I was in 7th grade. Far from any sexual episodes..lol... no seriously, my memory was just this.
I was in the 7th grade choir at my middle school and I used to flirt with one particular boy in class. I was so in love with him. LeMarcus was his name. Anyway, so the entire class would always sing "I'll Make Love To You" just cause it was the hit song, everyone loved Boyz II Men and it was a bit dirty for 12 year olds to sing it.
Well, one day going to a performance, we were all on the bus and the teacher told us to warm up our vocals. So we all started busting out this song. And we did because we knew the teacher didn't think it was appropriate. So we are all singing and laughing and then we get to the second verse and start going
Throw your clothes, on the floor. And I'm gonna take my clothes off too.....
And that was always the line the teacher would yell at us and tell us to stop singing. We always got a kick out of pissing her off by singing that line.
And for some reason, this is one of the moments I remember so clear and that just make me smile and take me back to a simpler time in life. I believe 7th grade was my happiest grade in a school year that I can remember.
So what song brings back those happy memories for you and why?
I LOVE it when I hear a song that takes me back like that... My sister and I used to play the piano and sing "Crazy for You" by Madonna when it was popular. Madonna was so taboo as well. I was in 7th or 8th grade and I used to picture myself in that song.... I was such a rock star, hee hee hee. I still smile to myself when I hear it. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to LOVE that song by Madonna as well. I used to sing it all the time. Isn't it great to feel that way about a song? Thankx so much for commenting :)
