I Broke Up With Facebook

It's true. I announced yesterday that I decided to break up with Facebook. It seems as though it's been a long time coming. Will I miss it? Sure! I will miss all the hours of addiction staring at all my wonderful friends' posts and pictures. I will miss sharing things of my own and catching up with those that are far away.

However, Facebook stressed me out. Plain and simple. I know it shouldn't, but it does. I found myself so upset and furious most days I was on there. Whether it was due to a personal friend that was attacking me for certain reasons on my lifestyle, or support groups I joined where people would completely lash out on me to the point I would be shaking after trying to defend myself.

Holiday Shopping & Black Friday Deals

*This post contains affiliate links. When you click on one of these links and make a purchase or sign up for something, there is no extra cost to you. However, I do receive a small commission that keeps this blog up and running. So thank you for your support.

So this is the week. The week so many people look forward to. Black Friday shopping to get all their holiday gifts and shopping all done in one day. Don't' get me wrong, I used to go gaga over the Black Friday deals and love buying gifts. But I didn't like the crazy hours of waking up super early, or yes, I even camped out once... oh that was pretty much a nightmare just to help my husband grab a Wii and a Playstation 3 when those first arrived.

However, now I really love that holiday shopping is a lot easier. Because now it's online! Hallelujah! That is music to my ears. No more rushing out in the freezing cold, no more beating around crazy mobs of people ready to attack you for that Elmo doll. And no more stress of it honestly.

Crayon Crunch Personalized Children's Book Review

I'm really excited to share with you a wonderful book I was honored to be asked to try out and review for you all today. The company Crayon Crunch contacted me about a new book they have released where your child is the main character. How cool is that?

How it works is that Crayon Crunch offers a unique customizing system online where you or your child can create a character to look like them. Every character is just as unique as your child. To give you a sneak peak when you are ordering your book, this is the customizations that are included and two examples of characters you can create:

So as you can see, there are hundreds of possibilities to create a unique story character. When I sat down to start creating mine, I decided to let my daughter create the character she wanted and how she felt she looked. So we went through the entire process which was very simple and easy for her to do on her own. And this is the character she chose that she felt represented her the best:

Natalya chose this particular character because she wanted her to look very similar to her own self. Natalya has curly brown hair, big brown eyes, tan skin, her favorite color is yellow, and she loves to wear skirts. So she thought this character matched her very well.

Once chosen, we submitted the character and the book was shipped off to us. When we got it, my daughter was so excited to open it up and begin reading it.

The book starts off with the main character in the attic where they discover a small chest. But it can't be opened without a special key. So they go on a mission of exploration and lots of imagination to uncover what exactly is so special about this little chest and try to find the key to unlock it's secret.

What makes it even more unique is that you can personalize a message to your child that is revealed at the end of the book. This is the one I wrote for my daughter and she got to read it when she read the book.

My daughter loved this because every page had her name on it and she thought it was so much fun to be the character of a book. The story is filled with a fun adventure where she imagined she was an archaeologist, a clown, an artist, etc...
And the message is so great for children. It let's them know that even though imagination and pretending to be something or someone is wonderful and fun, it's also just as wonderful to be yourself. That having a sense of pride and self esteem is equally as important.

Also, not to mention the book is beautifully illustrated and super colorful. This book is wonderful for any child and would make a great gift this holiday season.
I think this book is wonderful and know that this will be a bedtime story over and over again in our home. I would recommend this adorable book to anyone who has a child in their life that loves adventure.

Information on purchasing this book can be found on Crayon Crunch. You have the option to purchase a hardcover or softcover. For this review, I was given the softcover book.

Wishlist Wednesday Link-Up : Etsy Love

Good morning blogland! With the holidays officially here, everyone is getting in the spirit of the mood. I am no exception. I may not be decorating or putting up my Christmas tree just yet. However, that does not mean I don't feel festive.

It finally feels like fall. The cool, crisp chilly air is now here in the Midwest and the trees are all full of golden orange leaves. This is our third "fall" since Florida really doesn't have many seasons :)

I wanted to start a new blog hop which I really wanted to have launched last week but wasn't able to. So I'm excited for the launch this week. Every Wednesday morning, from now til New Years, I'll be posting a link up that will have a new theme each week. Though you don't have to specially follow the theme, it's just there as an idea.

PickedDresses Toronto

Fall and Winter weddings are a huge hit. Now we all know summer is the most popular time of the year to have a wedding for obvious reasons. It's perfect weather, kids are out of school, adults take time off of work, everything is in full bloom.... it's just endless. However, there is something beautiful and breathtaking about a wedding held in the fall and winter. Why? The fall displays beautiful colors of brown and tan neutrals, with a little hint of oranges, yellows and reds thrown into the mix.

Winter weddings seem to be timeless classics. They have a sense of classic beauty tied into the crisp snow mixed with cooler weather which is perfect for cuddling couples to cozy up together. The winter brings lots of romance and therefore perfect for weddings. I had my own wedding in January and loved it. However, the season may come easy to choose from but for some, choosing the perfect wedding dress is not an easy task.

Tree Classics Classic Noble Fir Wreath Giveaway

Everywhere I turn, it seems like everyone is talking about Christmas now that Halloween has passed. I usually wait til December to start talking about anything Christmas related. But the reason I am is because I was asked to team up with Tree Classics to help them celebrate their 40th anniversary! So they are partnering with 40 bloggers to give away 40 different Christmas products. And I was one of those 40. If I had links to all the giveaways sponsored through them, I would have posted as well. But sadly, I don't. So you are stuck with mine :)

Rejuvelle Bath Bombs Review

There is not one single person out there right now that cannot use a spa day. Am I right? Seriously, we all need and want that soothing, relaxing time to kick back and not give a care in the world. All while being pampered. But the reality is that most of us can't go and enjoy our days wasting away at the spa. But I totally wish I could. So what is the next best thing?

Bringing the spa home to you. And now a company out there has just done that. Julie & Alexa are a mother/daughter team that started Rejuvelle in hopes to create a product that would be beneficial to everyone.

Their story - Our bath bombs were created as a result of our 12 year old daughter Alexa who was diagnosed with an auto immune disease which affects her skin. Our passion was to create a product that she could use that was vegan, gluten free, all natural with no colors, and no artificial fragrance, with great moisturizing and skin softening benefits, but was also fizzy and fun for the whole family, and voila, Rejuvelle bath bombs were born!

I was so excited to try these, as they have been rated 4.7 stars out of 5 with over 500 reviews so far from people just like me who want and love awesome bath products. Now before I start, I have to tell you, not only did the reviews catch my attention, but the ingredients as well. Seriously, this is what we should be using on our skin, not the stuff you find in stores laced with harmful chemicals.

These bath bombs are handmade, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, organic, and made with essential oils and made in the USA. Does it get any better than that? I mean, really? This is more than awesome! So I couldn't wait for these to arrive and try out.

When they first came, I have to tell you even before I could actually open the Amazon box itself, I could smell the bath bombs right in the hands of the postman. I knew these things were going to be awesome and I hadn't even seen them yet.

The come packaged in a cute metal tin with a ribbon and bow wrapped around it. Inside are six different bath bombs all packaged individually, wrapped in tissue paper and labeled with their names and fragrances.

The six amazing bath bombs that come in this box are

As you can see, I took a photo of the bath bomb out of it's wrapping and placed it next to an apple we had in our fruit basket. The bath bombs are a pretty decent size as you can see. And they are all colorless so they do not cause any staining in your bath tub once used.

I went to use the "Stressed Moms" one, because let's face it... stress is my middle name haha... I'm a mom on the go constantly without a break. So this one stood out to me the most. When using it, I threw it in the bath water and it fizzled like crazy! I loved watching it. Does that sound weird? The bath bomb released a nice fragrance to enjoy and relax in. It smelled sooooo good!!! The perfect bath bomb to end a stressful day.

These bath bombs make a perfect gift for anyone honestly. Since they are made with safe ingredients, kids can use them too. With the holidays approaching, these will be on my list for my family this year. And the best part of it all is? They are currently on sale right now. So head over and grab yours now. You can get them through Amazon for only $21.97

What would be your favorite scent out of these six? Have you tried these bath bombs before? Would you consider this on your holiday list this year? Let me know below.

Subtracting Became Just A Bit Easier

As a homeschool mom, I often find there are easier subjects to teach my daughter than others. I think it's natural for any parent to be able to help better in certain areas than others. For me, history, science, art, music, geography, language arts, german... these are all really simple and easy for me to teach and help my third grader grasp. But when it comes to math, there isn't always that confidence.

SuperKind Club + $500 Giveaway

We have all heard of a RAOK. It's been very popular within the last few years. Gaining lots of popularity around social media especially. It's usually performed by someone doing something for someone else just because they want to.

SuperKind has taken it to the next level. Usually a random act of kindness is most heard of being performed by an adult. But now, they are asking kids to get involved to do something nice for someone too, regardless of their family's financial situation.

Where did the idea for SuperKind come from? It actually came from a 6 year old girl named Eva.  She said, “You can’t be a bully and be kind at the same time. “So if we can teach kids the importance of kindness, there will not be any more bullies at schools.”

So what exactly is SuperKind?

SuperKind is a personalized product aimed at spreading random acts of kindness (“R.A.O.K”) around the world. When you order your own SuperKind kit for your child, you will receive (1) 16 custom kindness cards; (2) 16 custom stickers; and (3) a SuperKind certificate to affix the stickers. The cards and stickers feature your child’s face and name.
Once your child performs the kind act that is featured on their card, they can also use the super stickers to place in their folder when a RAOK is complete. They are then asked to pass along the card to someone else. The card has instructions on the back for the next person to complete within 3 days.

Because the people behind SuperKind is so committed to changing the world for the better, one {small} person at a time, the SuperKind kits are free! Just sign up to help share this campaign and you'll be sent a special code to claim your free kit. You will be able to easily upload your child's photo into the super hero template and print the cards in your own home. You and your child could be the start of something big..even if they are still small. So join in and start today!

You can also share you story and win prizes as well. Visit SuperKindClub.com and share your story. Each SuperKind kind receives a special number on his or her cards and you input that number into the website and submit your story there.

My daughter, Natalya, got her own set of SuperKind RAOK cards and here is what they look like in person:

This was the photo I sent in and then they added her face onto the cards.

So get started today in helping your child perform an act of kindness that may change someone's day completely around. We need more kindness in the world.

On their Kickstarter page, you'll receive all the info and there are different pledging options that you can help with and get different prizes with. Also, you even have a chance to score $500 with their giveaway going on. So join in, help a great cause and you could be a winner as well {in more ways than one}!
