Emma's Mode Review

Have you heard of Emma's Mode? If you haven't, now is the time to check them out. Emma’s Mode is an online retailer inspiring women to look their best by offering stylish, yet affordable fashions. From stylish dresses to trendy shoes to the season’s latest fashion accessories, Emma’s Mode is committed to its mission that fashion should be affordable and fun.

I was given the opportunity to try out a couple of the fashions Emma's Mode features. I selected the Yellow Floral Round Toe Ballet Flats and the Furry Sleeves Loose Pullover Knit Sweater in ivory.

When the products arrived, I was really excited to try them out and on! My first try on was the Yellow Floral Round Toe Ballet Flats.

I really love the color yellow. Aside from pink, yellow is my favorite color. I can't choose between the two. But something about yellow shoes really drew my eye.

The brand is Bamboo and they are a simple basic flat. The material feels like a sturdy canvas material with a hard, synthetic sole. The inside is a cushion floral print. Very basic yet really nice.

I really these shoes. They slip on and off nice. I think they really compliment any outfit and make a pop of color which stands out. These would be great to wear in the office with a formal pant or just lounging around in your jeans for an afternoon of gossip with the girls.

The Yellow Floral Round Toe Ballet Flats are available for $13.80 on the website and come in a variety of colors. If yellow isn't your thing, there are many other colors to choose from.

My second item to review was the Furry Sleeves Loose Pullover Knit Sweater. This is a really cute and beautiful sweater. It's really comfy too.

I chose this sweater in the color ivory. I really love how soft it really is. Especially the sleeves. It really does fit it's name. It fits nice. I think it may be a bit too snug in my hips but that is my fault. I need to hit the gym more and lose that extra baby weight that has been sitting on their since my last pregnancy.

I can see myself wearing this out anywhere. It's warm, comfy, and can be dressed up or dressed down. I really loved the tag that was attached to the sweater. It read, " Never was there a girl so pretty ..." I think every girl deserves to feel pretty so this was a great reminder.
The Furry Sleeves Loose Pullover Knit Sweater is available in both ivory and black and is currently on sale for only $29.75

So if you are looking for some great styles at an affordable price, check out Emma's Mode. You will find everything you need from handbags to leggings and all in between. Great styles, great fashion, great prices!

Hello lovelies! I am a bit behind on this unboxing and that isn't very cool of me. I am very sorry about that but it is up now. So even though it's a bit behind, it's not too late I hope!

I was super excited for this because I have heard so many amazing things about the company and their subscription boxes and couldn't wait for the chance to try my own. This beauty box subscription will surprise you each month with the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. From nail care, to the hottest hair products, to the top skin care and cosmetics, they have your head-to-toe beauty needs covered!

When I received my box, I could not wait to open it to see what was inside. The card read -

So, unwrap this month's BOXYCHARM and have yourself a charming holiday season this year! Share your mistletoe ready looks using your BOXYCHARM goodies with #BoxyBelles.

Inside my box was some really amazing stuff. I was actually blown away by the products. I received five items. Four of which were full sized, and one that was travel sized. So right there that was totally awesome. I don't like sample sized items very much so full sized really impressed me.

The first item I could not wait to open and see {and the one I was most excited about} was the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette full sized product.

Expose your natural beauty with this exquisite collection of nude and metallic hues. The slim palette holds all twenty shadows allowing for easy on-the-go application. Blend these smooth, powdered shadows seamlessly to create an array of day or evening looks. Retails $39.95

These lashes are light, soft, sterilized and Hypo-Allergenic with not chemicals or dying involved. Retails $30.00

Next we have the Mistura Beauty Solutions Retractable Beauty Brush full sized product.

The ultra-soft synthetic-hair bristles pop out from the handle and wash the cheeks with your customized Mistura shade!          Retails $19.99

The fourth product that came in the box was the Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon in Hot Damn full sized product.

A glossy lip crayon with a smooth texture. Apply to top and bottom lips for full coverage. For sheer coverage, apply to lower lip only and blot lips together. Retails $ 14.00

Last, but not least, was the Eva NYC Hold Me Tight Hairspray travel size product.

Freeze frame your locks with this maximum hold spray. The humidity resistant formula smooths frizz and fly-aways and keeps hair in place no matter the weather. Maintain your styles while adding high-gloss sheen and volume that counts. Retails $10.00

So there you have it. My BOXYCHARM box. I was very impressed by this box and would totally do a subscription for it. I love subscription boxes and this is one of my favorites so far. I was not disappointed by anything that arrived.
How much is a BOXYCHARM monthly subscription? Well, I'm glad you asked!

And the total retail price for my box was $113.94

YALMEH Foundation Brush Review

Hello lovelies. Today I get to share with you a review I did for a product from the company YALMEH. And that product is their foundation brush. Now I have to say, I was a bit excited to try this out because I have never put on foundation with a brush before. I know all of you makeup experts out there are probably dropping your jaws to the floor right now. But it is true. I have always used my fingers or just a makeup sponge. But mostly my fingers to just blend and apply. Pretty boring, I know.

So that is why I wanted to try out this foundation brush so bad because I wanted to finally join the group of the cool makeup-ies {I know that's not a word..it is today!} and apply my foundation with a brush and just to see why it's such a popular cosmetic item.

The brush arrived in this nice box. Fitting the brush perfectly. I was eager to open it to see what the actual brush looked like. But more importantly, how the bristles felt.

The bristles had a very nice color pattern to them. A lighter shade of grey and darker grey moving to a darker brown and finally to a lighter creme color.

They felt very soft as well. That is a big issue. If it's not soft, why would you want to use it on your face? Unless you were exfoliating and this wasn't an exfoliating brush.

So good to know, the brush was very soft to the touch. Now came to real test. Applying the foundation and seeing how well this beauty really worked. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous at this part because I had mentioned before, I hadn't used a brush to apply foundation so I wasn't sure what the right technique was to go about doing so.

I think the brush did a really good job of blending and applying the foundation evenly. It's a great brush in your hands as well. Doesn't feel heavy and isn't too small. I feel like this is a really great professional quality product. Have you tried this brand? What are your thoughts?

Here is a little more info about the brush:

DIY Heart-Shaped Crayon Tutorial

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Literally, just one week away. Everyone is rushing around trying to get their children's VDay cards all ready to go. This year, I wanted to do something a bit more creative than just running to the store and picking up a box of cards. I wanted to get creative this year and do something fun with my daughter for her Valentine cards that would be cheap, easy, and of course...stand out.

So we decided to make our own heart-shaped Valentine crayons for her to give out to her friends. And it was super easy and didn't take a lot of time to do. They came out really cute. So I'm going to share our easy tutorial with you all.
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Grab some bright colored crayons and start to remove the paper off of them. Bright/light crayons work best. We tried using darker colors and they just mix with the lighter ones creating a muddy look. So one or two dark colors is fine. But the best is to stick to bright and lighter colors.

Step 2
Break the crayons into smaller pieces so that they will fit into the mold. Be sure to stuff the mold as full as possible. The crayons sink when they melt and I found out I needed more then what I used the first time around thinking it would spill over but it didn't. So just stuff it until no more can fit into each one. Randomly set the colors in as well for a fun design.

Step 3
Place the silicone mold onto a metal pan and protect it with foil in case there happen to be any leaks or spills from the melted crayon. So far, I haven't had that happen, but better to be safe than sorry.
Put the pan into the oven for about 10 minutes. Keep your eye on it. Once the crayons start to melt, you can push the bigger chunks down into it with a toothpick if needed.

Step 4
Once the crayons are melted, take the pan out of the oven. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to cool. Once they aren't as hot, put them in the freezer for about 15 minutes to harden. They do not have to be completely cold, but when they are cool, take them out of the freezer and start carefully popping them out of the mold.

Step 5
Now that the crayons are done, it's time to place them onto your cards. I found a fun image of a crayon box and took it into Adobe Illustrator and placed the text in there. It reads "Valentine you color the world & make it bright." Then underneath, I put "I made you a crayon to start your creativity".
The crayons just attached with tape on the back and my daughter put her name and colored them for fun. Now we are ready to hand them out!

What is really fun about this project, especially for the kids, is that you never know how your crayon will turn out. They all come out so different and unique. We have been making lots of these for our cards. This was just tonight's pile. But we have been making them for two weeks now to give out. The patterns are really cool and the kids really love coloring with them because every stroke gives you a new color. They love that.
