Playful Planet Storyland Yoga DVD Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to review and discover the company Playful Planet. I was very excited as I knew my seven year old daughter would be in trying out yoga for the first time. I received  the Storyland Yoga DVD in exchange for my own views and opinions.

So what is Storyland Yoga all about?
Storyland Yoga is a fun-filled adventure that infuses children with an eco-conscious message. Two unique stories, Save the Whale and Condor Trek, engage a child's imagination through storytelling. Kid's learn yoga postures by becoming part of the story and imitating animals. Yoga is great exercise and helps to calm children, giving them greater focus and increased clarity. By connecting with nature and gaining respect for their own health and well being, children become empowered to create solutions for the health and sustainability of our planet. Storyland Yoga is equally fun for parents and family members who can benefit from yoga, while enjoying organic time with their children.

This DVD has lots of great instruction for children around the ages from 3-8 years of age. Though I am sure children a bit younger or older would love this as well. My daughter is 7 years old and so she fit in the category this DVD is geared toward.
Storyland Yoga provides two different stories for children that are based upon yoga poses for kids. There is Condor Trek and Save The Whale. Both tell a story that motivates children to listen and participate in the yoga movements all while having fun.

The menu lets you choose which story to do first. Each story and yoga class is instructed by Ahmed Fahmy. He involves the children in the DVD as well as encourages the children at home. My daughter honestly played this DVD over and over again doing all the different poses.

The poses are very simple and basic for children to understand. My daughter loved doing them. Throughout each story as well, there were animations to help tell the stories. She enjoyed it so much now she is asking for a yoga mat!

At the end of the two yoga videos, we clicked on the Special Features menu. There, you have to option of going through and learning the different yoga poses on their own without the story. Instead of the group of children, it featured one child. So it was like she was getting a one-on-one crash course in yoga posing. She enjoyed this as well.

Playful Planet's Storyland Yoga seems like a perfect fit in our lives and home. It was fun, easy, free-spirited, calming, and enjoyable. I would recommend this to all moms with children. I think everyone would benefit from doing the exercises on this DVD.

Interested in checking it out for yourself? Head over to Playful Planet now to purchase the DVD for your child. The retail price is $14.99 which gives you the entire DVD's two yoga story instructions, and also full of special features as well. However, you can purchase the videos separately if you choose for a discounted price.

To learn more about the video, you can click here to read up on all the awards they have won as well as the run time of the DVD. Don't forget to keep up-to-date with the latest news from Playful Planet by subscribing to their Facebook and Twitter page.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Don't Cry Over Spilled Polish Exchange

This year has been so many new changes for me as far as where I have been taking my blog. And so I am stepping up again to a new idea that I have seen but have not hosted myself. And now I felt was the time. This is the time of year where you see so many exchanges and so why not participate in one more?

So I am introducing the first ever on xoxo Rebecca called Don't Cry Over Spilled Polish. This will be a nail polish exchange between bloggers to get to know someone new as well as receive a fun package for the holidays.

So here's how it will work {the famous ten rules}:

1. Sign up below using the form between November 28th - December 5th.
2.  On December 6th, everyone will be paired with someone & notified via email who their swap buddies are.
3. Get to know your partner. You will have until December 16th to mail out your package to them. This ensures everyone should get their polish before the 24th.
4. Your package should include at least two {2} bottles of polish.
5. Packages should be $15.00 {before shipping}. You can choose to splurge more if you would like but to keep it reasonable, $15.00 seems fair. You can make it fun and include other small little gifts if you would like.
6. Please make sure you wrap the bottles up so they are secure. We would hate to see anyone's break during shipping because then we will be crying over spilled polish!
7. Right now the swap will only be available to those in the US. There is a possibility of it opening up to others outside the US later on. I think the only exception is for those overseas in the military with an APO address because the US shipping rates still apply.
8. All participates must be serious about the exchange. Please be sure if you sign up, you are willing to go through with your part.
9. On January 2nd, there will be a link up to show off your polish posts. This way everyone can share all the fun things they got. Please make sure you link up your post.
10. Have fun with this! And don't forget to share. Spread the word throughout your social media sites. The more that participate, the more fun it will be. Grab the button if you would like as well and post it on your blog.

My Beauty Confession

A few weeks ago, I had posted on Facebook about what are your little dirty secrets when it comes to your beauty routine. Little did I know, that Maria from Agape Love actually hosted a link up all about this topic! Perfect!!! So I thought I would join in and post about my answer to my beauty confession.

Here is my beauty confession for this week:

I know what you are thinking...this is a BIG no-no!!!! I get so many hair dressers screaming at me and telling me how I'm destroying my hair. And I know I am. So if you are reading this and want to smack me...I understand. I get it so much when I tell people I brush while wet.

So before you start yelling and screaming at me for this..I apologize. I know how wrong it is and how damaging it can be. Well, not can be, how damaging it really is!

I know that if you are going to need to brush your hair while it is still wet, forget the brush and use a wide tooth comb. Wet hair is swollen hair and that means the strands are weak and extra-prone to breakage, so you’re causing havoc when you’re tugging your brush through them post-shower. And no one likes damaged hair.
So that is my beauty confession for the week. What is your beauty dirty little secret you have? Share your story & confessions by linking up. through the button below.

Datevitiation Coupon Book Review & Giveaway

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to review and giveaway another coupon book from the really awesome site Datevitiation. Last year, I was lucky enough to review one as well. It came just in time for my husband's and I's wedding anniversary. If you would like to check out what I created back then, you can click HERE. So this year, it is coming just in time for the holiday season.

Since my husband and I never get to go on dates..like EVER! I think we have actually only had one date in the last seven years without the kids. So I love these coupon books. The theme I created for mine this time around is a bit more mild than my first book.

I decided to to it based on Dates Without The Kids. Though there are over 800 date ideas you can choose from that include everyone in the family to just the two of you. And what's even cooler is now they even allow you to not only make coupon books for your significant other, but you can do ones for children as well. So now you can create a fun gift for anyone and for any occasion too.

Here's just a bit of info that you can use to create your own book and about the company:
  • Datevitation.com is the web's first online platform to create a custom love coupon book. Unlike the pre-packaged love coupon books on the market, you pick the dates and can customize the text to your liking.  Once you are done customizing the text in your book, Datevitation will print it out and ship it to you.
  • Our library contains over 500 date ideas ranging from skydiving to stargazing to steamy adult-only activities. We also have over 100 book cover options to suit any occasion.
  • In addition to being the perfect romantic gift for your sweetie, Datevitation now has "boy" and "girl" characters with over 200 new activity illustrations specifically for kids and parents.  There’s also an exciting feature that allows you to add photos of your own faces to the illustrations!
I received mine in the mail and absolutely loved it!
Here is a sneak peak of just a few pages that I created for our book together:

Just a few fun ideas. They have so many to choose from, it's so much fun going through their library of unique date ideas to do. This would make such a cute gift for the holidays. It's really one-of-a-kind and that makes it even more special.
Books normally start at just $25 so it makes for a thoughtful yet economical gift.  But as a special treat for my followers, you can use the code XOREBECCA for $10 off your purchase plus free shipping (total value of $13.50) That means you can get your loved one a one-of-a-kind gift for Christmas starting at just $15! The order cut-off date for guaranteed delivery by Christmas is December 13 so make sure to get your order in before then!
