Into The Fifth Month

Hello month five! That means we have hit the halfway mark now. Twenty weeks down and twenty more to go. So far I have only gained a total of four pounds and I seemed to put it on all this week. I have hard a really hard time gaining any weight during this pregnancy so the doctor was happy to see that I have managed to put on a little at least. I'm finally getting a bit of a baby bump going on.

Baby seems to be doing fine. Though I will not be able to feel the baby move just like I never did in my other pregnancies due to the size of my placenta. But that's ok. I'm used to not being able to feel any kicking or movement. Sometimes I don't like that because then there is no reassurance if the baby is ok or not. But since this is my third time going through this with the same thing, the worries aren't really there anymore.

We had our gender ultrasound this week as well. And of course, like every single one we've been through, my husband did not go with me. He has never gone to one before. That is because he wants to know the sex of the baby and I refuse to know. So if he goes, he will see, peak..do whatever he can to know. So if he stays home, there isn't anything to know or see or find out. So it works out.

So yes, I made sure I told the tech I didn't want to know but to at least have her write it down for me and seal it in an envelope. So the baby was moving around a bit. It was kicking it's legs on the screen and moving it's arms and head. It's fun to watch the baby move since I have no feeling of that at all. At least I get to see it happening.

Ultrasound photos are so freaky, aren't they? It's so exciting and fun to see your baby on screen. I don't know anyone who doesn't like going for an ultrasound. But don't they look like little aliens?

She said the baby's heart rate is at 151 which has been the highest it's been yet. It keeps going up every appointment. And it weighs 10 ounces now. So getting closer to one pound. Regardless of my weight gain issues, she said the baby is at the right weight for the number of weeks I am at. I'm glad to hear that. I didn't want it to be under or even somehow over weight.

So what are your guesses on what the baby is? I'm secretly hoping for another little girl. I love that I have one of each and I love my little guy so much. But since we had a girl first and then a boy, I'd like another girl. We shall see! I'm excited either way on what the baby will be. But of course, I'll be finding out when the baby gets closer to being here.

Wordless Wednesday - The Gender

I had my big ultrasound today where we find out if the baby will be a boy or a girl. Well, if you know me, I don't ever want to know the baby's gender. So I had the technician put it in an envelope again and here is my Wordless Wednesday photo:

I will be sharing the photos I got from the ultrasound with my 20 week bump update this week. Look out for those!

The Invite War

So I'm curious to know what people are thinking about on this topic. The war on the invitations. Everyone seems to be on the digital trend now-a-days. Snail mail is starting to die out and I'm sad cause I love getting real letters and cards in the mail. But just cause I do, doesn't mean everyone else does. In fact, it seems more people prefer the use of digital invites instead of the traditional.

So I'm wondering, which do you prefer to use and receive? I have heard some people say that it's ok to use a digital invite except for wedding and holiday cards. While others have said it's ok to use them for any occasion.

I personally have only sent out holiday cards through digital one year before to test it out. I have never used anything such a the "create an event" on Facebook to host a party. Have you used it? Was the success rate better than the typical mailed out invitation?

What I have done in the past and I have liked it was mailed out real invitations, but had people RSVP for the parties on a website that I included in the invite or just have them email or call me. I personally have felt that using Facebook to send out an invite just doesn't feel the same or have the same "fun" as getting a real invitation. But that is just me.

So I want to know what your take is?
1. Do you prefer to host a party using digital invites through sites such as Facebook or Evite?
2. Do you prefer to receive a digital invite rather than a paper one?

I'm really curious to know your thoughts and views on each one. The fall seems to be a huge time of the year for me where I am party planning non-stop it seems like. With my daughter's birthday in October, my son's birthday in November, and now getting a baby shower underway before the new baby comes in January....well, I have been thinking a lot about how people like to do their party planning now-a-days.

Feel free to leave your thoughts and comments!

Wordless Wednesday - First Day

Happy Wednesday! This week marked back to school. Yesterday was my daughter's first day of 1st grade. Not only was this a new year, but also a new city and a new school she was attending. But it sounds like she is going to like it there and everything seems like it may be just fine this year.

She wore all Monster High stuff. From her hair bow to her lunch box. Everything had to be all about Monster High this year!

Diamond Candle Giveaway & Review

So I got the chance to review a candle from the company Diamond Candles. Most of you know about them. They seem to have been pretty popular around the internet. I've seen them all over blogs and a few of my friends on Facebook have bought them and talked about how fun and exciting they are. Now, it was my turn and I couldn't have been more excited!

If you are not familiar with Diamond Candles, they are 100% pure soy candles so they burn very nicely and the wax releases the fragrance ever so quickly. And here is why they are so unique. A real ring worth $10, $100, $1000. or $5000 is in every candle. The fun part about burning down the candle is that you get to see which ring you got!

So my choice of candle to try out was the Carnival Candy Candle. I have to tell you, within a minute of lighting the candle, I could instantly smell it. It carried through the whole living room and into the bedroom. The smell is very nice and really does smell yummy.

This is how my ring reveal went:

If you want to learn more about these candles, you can visit their website and their Facebook pages. And once you get to reveal your ring, you can #hashtag it to their Instagram as well.

Now here is the fun part for you all. Now is your chance to win your very own Diamond Candle! Use the form below to enter to win your own. The entries are easy and simple. Help spread the word by tweeting about this giveaway as well to all your friends and readers.

The Nail Files

This week I went out and bought some new nail polish. I normally go for the bold, bright, funky colors but this time, I was looking for something a bit more girly. I wanted to have something more flirty and fun, light and feminine. And so I chose this color for today's link-up:

Sally Hansen #230 color= Heart of Stone

16 Weeks In

We are officially at four months {sixteen weeks} in today. Baby seems to be doing good. The heart beat at ever appointment seems to be between 145-151. A lot of the pregnancy symptoms are still kicking my butt. Not very fun at all. But they have let up since the beginning and I can't wait til they are pretty much not there anymore. So with just five more months to go, I'm hoping to start feeling like a rockstar soon!

How Far Along: 16 weeks, which makes that four months now

How Big is Baby: The size of an avocado

Weight Gain: I have actually yet to gain any weight. I'm still at my pre-pregnancy weight. I still don't have much of a baby bump at all right now as you can tell from the photo above.

Maternity Clothes: I've never gotten out of wearing maternity clothes since I just had a baby not too long after getting pregnant with this one

Sleep: Not at all. About 3-4 hours a night. And that is because I have an eight month old who doesn't sleep at all.

Food Cravings: Nothing. Only when I'm hungry, then I want everything

Food Aversions: Too much. I don't like smells of food at all.

Symptoms: Vomiting, nausea, being tired, cramping, migraines, and lots of bitchy PMS

Movement: Nope, but according to my last ultrasound, they said the baby is moving around a lot. But I never felt my son move until after I was 30 weeks. So I'm not expecting to feel any movement any time soon.

Gender: Not finding out. I am thinking of either having a gender reveal party near December, or not finding out at all. I have no desire to know the sex of the baby.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Getting moved into our new place. We sign the lease today and get the keys.

What I Miss: Feeling not sick and being able to eat or drink whatever I want.

Next Appt: Not til the end of August at my 20 weeks appointment. They are doing another ultrasound which I love seeing the baby on screen.
