When Phones Become Rude

A few days ago, I decided to get out of the house and go take the kids to hang out with a friend. I thought the kids could play together and I could have some fun "girl-talk"time that wasn't over the internet. And I have to ask one question.....why are people so obsessed with their phones?

Seriously, we sat talking for about six hours while the kids played and all I felt like through the entire time the hours were going by was like this:

Yes, like I was just sitting there while my friend just couldn't pull away from her phone. I was trying to make conversation while fighting a battle with her phone. Every second the text ring would buzz and she just texted her friends non-stop while I was trying to have a real conversation. I was starting to wonder what was the point of the invite for me to come over if I wasn't even being acknowledged.

I tried to just ignore it and keep smiling and bringing up topics to talk about. But nothing pulled her away from her phone. I finally asked her if she was texting her husband. She laughed and said no. It was just a friend she just felt like texting. I just don't get it.

It's just pretty much down right....

Wouldn't you agree? I mean, really... who does that? Who has to be that attached to their phone that they can't just hang out with a friend without interuption from texting non-stop about nothing important? Maybe it's just me..but I would never do that to someone who was over trying to hang out with me...unless of course there was an emergency and I needed to be texting non-stop.

I doubt anything I tried to talk about even registered in her head. Her hand and mind was wrapped all around her phone to even care I think. I found myself starting to just ignore it and turn to the kids and watch them play while I let her sit quietly texting a mile a minute. I could have sat at home and did nothing if that was the case.

I am sure I could have sat there and started having a conversation about how:

And I'm sure she still would have sat there and nodded her head and said, "uh huh"....so what about you? Have you ever experienced a rude friend who can't pull away from their phone to just hang out or talk for a little bit? I guess cause I'm not attached to my phone...half the time I don't even know where it is for days or don't even bother to have it turned on...I guess I don't understand the concept...

All I ask is that if we are hanging out, just hang out with me...not your phone.

Thought The Worst Had Happened

This morning I thought something happened that no pregnant woman wants to go through. I was so scared, so nervous, so much in panic......
I went to the emergency room this morning because there was a pool on blood in the bed. I've never experienced bleeding in any of my other pregnancies before and to see so much blood just felt like a nightmare was occurring. I immediately thought the worst. I thought I was losing the baby.
Being fifteen and a half weeks now, the high risk of a miscarriage isn't very common in the second trimester. But it can happen. I had been in lots of pain the past two or three days due to tremendous amounts of stress. The husband and I had been fighting a lot and I just couldn't handle it. I don't deal with stress well and it started to show as it was affecting me painfully mentally and physically.
So this morning the husband saw the pool of blood and I immediately jumped out of bed and started to just go into panic mode. I really thought the worst was happening.
I told him I wanted to go to the hospital right away because I needed to know what was going on. He started to assure me that things were fine and it was probably nothing. I just kept thinking and saying how could it be nothing? It was freaking me out. I know they say sometimes a little blood is fine but when there is a significant amount, that could mean something bad is happening. And like I said, since this has never happened to me in my other pregnancies, I really didn't know what to do.
So he drove me to the hospital and we got there around 6:45am. I was the only one in sight which was good since there was no wait time. I don't ever go to regular hospitals. I only go to the women's hospitals for all my pregnancy related needs and deliveries. Regular hospitals freak me out and I could never give birth in one. I'm weird like that, but I won't.
So because it's a hospital only for pregnancy problems and to have a baby, it was nice to get into a room right away and start being seen right away. I have to say, all the doctors were super nice and so warm and friendly toward me...which hasn't always been the case in the past when I've gone for pregnancy related issues {but this was a different hospital than the one I had my other two children in}.
They started looking at me within thirty minutes of arriving and started giving me answers right away. Which was great. I'm so used to waiting hours and hours laying in a hospital bed for them to figure out what is going on.
They first decided to see if we could hear the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler. If it couldn't be found, then they would result to different measures to take to try and help me. It took a few minutes. My heart started to sink as all they could hear was my heartbeat. I really started to get upset but I didn't show it. I tried to stay calm and put together as much as I could until I heard the nurse say they couldn't find anything.
Then all of a sudden, a faint, fast paced thumping came up. She said, there's the baby's heart beating. I felt such a relief. I said does it sound normal? Is everything ok? She said it sounds like a great paced heart beat. I felt so much better hearing that.
Then other doctors came and and did an exam to see where the bleeding was coming from and if they could see if my cervix somehow was opening or what was going on. Then they brought in an ultrasound machine and wanted to see better if my placenta how somehow separated, if the baby looked distressed...anything...
After it was all done, they told me that everything looked like it was going good. Nothing wrong with my cervix, placenta, baby looked healthy and had lots of movement {I don't ever feel the baby move in any of pregnancies until the end, so it was nice to hear the baby was moving since I never get to feel it}.
So they told me that my doctor was in the hospital this morning delivering babies and he would come in and see me. So he walked in and sat down to reassure me that there looks like nothing is wrong. There is no miscarriage happening, there is nothing separating, there isn't a concern for anything right now. He did give me strict instructions to be on bed rest for the next four weeks and not do anything sexually to cause further bleeding or stressing myself out.
So the good news is, there isn't anything to worry about. I thought the worst and yet, somehow it all turned out ok. It was a stressful morning and I'm glad now I don't have to worry about things being wrong. I'm still having pain and I'm still bleeding a bit, but they said it should subside soon. If not, to of course, come back in. But for now...I'm not stressing out about things and staying calm. This little girl or boy is healthy and I'm happy to hear that everything is going to be ok.

A Big Annoucement

So, for a while now I have wanted to post this, but have been waiting on a number of things to do so. I couldn't wait any longer and so I am sharing with all of you ♥

So isn't this exciting? We found out when I was almost five weeks along back in May. It came as a complete shock at first. Like a really big shock.

Now that we are in the second trimester, everything is going better. The first trimester was horrible. I was nauseous non-stop all day and night. I was super exhausted and barely could even think or move.

However, even though these symptoms have gotten a bit better, I noticed since I hit the twelve week mark, I'm throwing up a lot. At least twice a day...mostly in the mornings. Hopefully that goes away soon.

So we are at 14.5 weeks now. See the little bump? Not much of one yet. I've lost one pound since I last weighed myself when I turned 14 weeks. The weight has been coming and going on and off.

My due date is set for January 17th. It's funny because that was the original date I set for our wedding but had to be pushed back one week because the venue was booked. Now I'm really hoping baby comes on that day.

We are not making any announcement of it on Facebook so if you are friends with me on my personal page, I ask that you not mention anything publicly. On my blog page, that's fine. We have decided to wait a while longer before saying anything on there.

My next appointment is the end of August. That will be my 20 week ultrasound as well. I have decided not to find out the sex of the baby again like I did last time. I am still up in the air with whether I want to completely wait and have it be a surprise in the delivery room with this one, or do another gender reveal party like we did before. That was a lot of fun. So I'm not sure yet. But I still have time to decide what I want to do.

So anyway, that is it. So you'll have to hear again about my pregnancy updates and complaints about being a hot air balloon for the next few months (✿◠‿◠)

Sunday Social

Another week of the Sunday Social

These are today's questions:

1. What is your favorite TV as a kid?

2. What is your current favorite TV show?

3. Which reality show would you NEVER do?

4. Which reality show would you LOVE to do?

5. What is the TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?
It would have to be Audrina from The Hills. I know the show doesn't air anymore, but she is the one I can think of that I can relate to the most.

6. Which TV character would you want to date?
Hmm..again, since I don't watch too much tv, I don't  really know all the shows on. But I've always had a crush on Jonathan Rhys Meyers when he played on the Showtime special, The Tudors

Fresh New Facelift

So my blog was getting a bit frustrating for me. As I was getting really mad at the issues and errors that were coming from it. And so I decided I needed a new start. Something fresh and different.

So I contacted my good friend Rekita because she does some great work for blogs and designs. And she hooked me up. After all the crap I put her through LOL, I think we got something new and fresh to work with. So what do you think of the new layout and design?

I like it and I appreciate all the hassle I put her through trying to come up with ideas and such and changes and colors and all that in-between. And the best part is, she is the most friendliest when it comes to this sort of stuff. She put up with it all and still had a smile on her face.

The idea was to do something sweet, fun and girly. Not only is Rekita a sweetheart to work with, her prices are really really great and affordable. Check out her blog design studio by clicking the button below. See all the other amazing people she has helped out and designed for as well.

And I am writing this because I believe in her and love the work she has done to want to share with you all. Like I said, she's a wonderful person and designer, but she was my friend first, which makes it even more special to me to be sharing her work with you guys.

So check out her stuff and if you are looking for a great new blog design at a really great price, I really suggest contacting her. She's amazing and a talented lady! That's why Iher. If you want to check out her personal blog, just click below. She has a really great blog {which is one of my personal favs}.

So what are you waiting for? Go check out both her sites right now? Oh and by the way....how do you like the new design? And I love the fact I can finally reply back to comments now on the blog. Before, the coding was all messed up and it didn't allow me to so I'm so excited to be able to finally do that again!
