Six Months Pregnant

Funny how fast this pregnancy seems to be going. Usually, it feels forever!!! Not this time though. In the beginning it did, but now thinking that we only have three months left to prepare for this little boy or girl...well, it's becoming a bit overwhelming. I won't lie.

So, looking at the above image, I have really seemed to pop! Literally, remember my previous posts where I didn't even look pregnant? Well, it seems to be all filling out now. I have really put on the belly since last month. In case you missed previous photos and updates, you can click HERE to see how my belly has been growing.

So far in the 24 weeks of being pregnant, I have gained a total of 7 pounds. I'm a bit embarrassed by that number as I didn't want to gain that much this early. I was hoping to have gained only 10 pounds total by the end of the pregnancy. I have been trying hard to stay fit this time around and not gain any unnecessary weight. I have been eating healthy, organic, and good for the most part. Some snacks here and there.
I have been trying to stay fit by exercising and taking long walks or being out walking all day with the kids. If I am in the house, I am up cleaning, which gives a good workout. I am just hoping to not go overboard on the weight gain. I feel like a huge fat whale already. And that doesn't make me happy. Though I was reassured by the doctor my weight is fine, I still am trying to keep this all under control. I don't believe in the "because I am pregnant, I can gain as much as I want or eat whatever I want" philosophy. I need to be strict with myself and make sure baby is getting everything it needs to grow healthy and for me to stay healthy and fit as well.

Not knowing the gender is so much fun for me and I normally have these funny feelings about what the baby is {and I have so far been always right}. However, this time, I have not had those "special feelings". I have no idea in my heart, what this baby will turn out to be. A boy or girl. I have expressed in my last posts that I am secretly wanting another girl. It would be fun to have my children alternate since we had a girl first, then a boy, and I would like a girl this time around. But whatever the baby gender is, I am going to be so happy and overjoyed no matter what!

For most pregnant women, this is not a milestone for them at the number of weeks I am. Most women have felt kicks about ten weeks ago. Well, this is a huge thing for me. I have never been able to feel the baby move with my other pregnancies until after the 30 week mark. And yet, at 23 weeks, I started to feel little movements. I was a bit shocked. The kicks aren't big but I feel them every now and then. It amazes me that I am feeling them this early. It's a sign that everything is going ok in there with baby!

Overall, my six month appointment went very well. My blood pressure is perfect! And my weight is perfect {though not to me, but what can ya do?} The ultrasound from last month, everything looks perfect with baby and no concerns. I have no complaints or issues going on with my body or the pregnancy. It's pretty much just been an easy ride at this moment. {Can't say that for the beginning of it with all the morning sickness}.
I was told by the doc that if my only complaint in my pregnancy right now is my son won't allow me to get enough sleep {he's 10 months old}, then I am doing phenomenal! So that's good to hear.
He said that I have about a 1% of any complications during this pregnancy and that any chance of needing any emergency help {like a c-section, diabetes, etc} would be in the 1% range as well. I'm pretty much as healthy as I can be. And that's what I like to hear....

My next appointment is scheduled for the end of October which will be my seven month appointment. After that, I will be going every two weeks instead of four. So that will be my 28 week appointment and that is when the overly dreaded glucose test will be conducted....dun dun dun                                                                                                                                                     Seriously,'s not as bad as many people make it out to be. They gave me the drink now and keep it at home to take while at home and then come back the end of October and not have to sit and wait an hour in the waiting room. I can drink it at home and then wait around here and then be there and see the lab specialist right away.                                                                                                                                                                     The worst part about it is the blood being drawn. I hate needles. I hate them so much. So this part I hate a lot. But I have never had a test come back bad or scary during any of my pregnancies when it came to this one. So I am not worried. I just have to drink, suck it up, and not cry like a little baby while they stab me with a needle.                                                                                                                                                                                               So for right now, the drink sits on top of the refrigerator so that my daughter doesn't think it's juice or something to get her hands on. That would not be good at all! I can see a huge disaster if that ever were to happen.

That's enough with the baby chit-chat. Until next month....this update is signing off....though don't think you won't be hearing non-stop on the blog about preggo things :) Remember, I have a six year old and a ten month talk will be told! LOL Later lovelies!

My Weekend Shenanigans!

I am linking up this week for Sami's Weekend Shenanigans blog hop. Here is what happened this weekend around my house....

Friday night was movie night at my daughter's school. They invited the families to come and enjoy a  movie on the gym floor. We brought our blanket and enjoyed refreshments while just the two of us enjoyed the movie together. They were playing The Great And Powerful Oz

Saturday was a really busy day for us. We had to get up early because my daughter was participating in the Pumpkin Fun Run that morning. So we had to get there early and all signed in. There were lots of kids participating in this event.
They had some fun things going on before the event. She got to pet a real horse and sit inside a real fire truck. She even got a temporary tattoo! Even her brother came to help his sister win the race :)

After the run, we finally got to head to the store and pick up a screen door for the back door. I have been wanting one since we moved in because of the cooler weather that has been hitting us, the breeze makes the house feel so amazing and refreshing and aired out. The husband and the maintenance guy installed it and put it up. I'm debating whether I need to paint it or just leave it.

Sunday was pretty much just a pajama day. We just kind of cleaned up a bit, did some laundry, I went to the store for a minute to grab the husband something for his lunch at work tonight and basically the rest of the day was helping the daughter with a bit of homework and sitting around.
I took the kids outside in the yard to play for a bit. We just stayed in our pajamas and no one had their hair done. That's ok though. Not everyday has to be primped and pretty.
The baby played in his pack-n-play out under a tree while I sat next to him. My daughter sat in the driveway and made a hop scotch board with her sidewalk chalk and some other little doodles.
The the kids played in the yard together for a bit. It didn't last long as the baby started to eat the grass and then get mad at me when I took it away.

And that was my weekend. What did you do?

Friday's Goodies

Happy Friday! Since my daughter's birthday is just now officially less than one month away, this mama right here has been doing some serious party planning. My little girl is turning seven this year and I can't believe how time has flown by. Seven years old already? WOW! That just blows my mind. I remember her being such a tiny baby only yesterday. The time really goes go right before your eyes.

So because of the need to get myself into high gear and start the planning process, I decided to share some fun ideas I found on Pinterest that I cannot wait to do. I have to admit, I am one of those people that like to have the biggest and best party. I love to show off when it comes to throwing and planning a party. Is that so wrong? It could be...but I love being the "talk of the party" with ideas, decorations, food, themes, etc.... It's just in my blood I suppose.

This year, we decided on a Candy Land theme party. Not necessarily has to go with the actual game, CandyLand...though she wants some of it to. But just more like a candy shoppe theme and feel.
Here are a few ideas I found that I want to do and try:

Photo from Events Luxe

I think invitations attached to a real lollipop mailed out would be super adorable! This would be an invite to remember for sure!!

This photo didn't have a site attached to it, but I wanted to copy the awning above our breakfast bar and make it cute like this.

Photo from Indulgy
These would make super cute favors and no melting involved!

There was no credit attached or linked with this photo, but colored blocks up the walkway and balloon lollipops to lead the guests to the party is so ideal!

Small plastic art pallets turned into a cupcake decorating station. Love this idea so very much!

When People Hate The Surprise

surpriseThe title is a bit crazy, huh? What surprise? Well, I'm talking about the surprise of the baby. I have been dealing with questions and comments for over a year now that I honestly never thought was such a big deal. But apparently, it is a SUPER big deal to some. And by feels like majority.

I didn’t know that people got so offended because YOU don’t want to to know the gender of your baby. I still don’t understand that. Ever since our pregnancy last year where we decided not to know the baby’s gender until we wanted to know {at the end of the pregnancy at our gender reveal party}, people have just made some rude comments about it.

I’ve been told it’s selfish of me for not wanting to let other’s know and it’s not fair. That I should just let them find out and they won’t tell me…..I’ve heard it all. I don’t know how it can be selfish that I don’t even know the gender of my child. But I was told that by a friend. I was told that how could they possibly buy things for me if they don’t know the gender. I plainly told them, I only register for gender neutral attire and things anyway. I love gender neutral items and it’s all I want.

Apparently, that’s not good enough for some people. Why? I just don’t get it…what does having to know the gender of my baby change? To me, it changes nothing. So that is why I choose not to know. Nothing changes on my thoughts or feelings. I choose both a boy’s and a girl’s name, I have gender neutral items so no worries there. I just don’t get what will change if I knew or not. Seriously! What is the big deal? When they were pregnant, they chose to find out and that is fine. But it’s all of a sudden the end of the world if I don’t want to know.

Now that we are halfway through this pregnancy, I still choose not to know the baby’s gender {until the end when I have my reveal party} and yet, it still bothers people that I won’t find out. I honestly, don’t know what the big deal is to know. I have had no desire to know what I am having and therefore, makes it so much easier not thinking about it. I like the surprise…what can I say? Why is that so wrong to want to have a surprise? Why are people so bothered by my decision? I just don’t get why you would say mean things to someone who just doesn’t want to find out. Is it really that necessary? It’s not going to change the way I feel about you and that I will want to now just find out just because you want to know. Sorry!
I know some people that find out and do not tell anyone. They only know and that’s what they want. I know some people who find out as early as they can and have to shout it out to the world. Believe me, once I know, I would love to yell it for everyone to know. And there are some people who choose not to know until the actual birth. Why is it so wrong to want to have an option? Not everyone has been mean to me about it. Some people {few, but still there are some} who think it’s great that we don’t find out right away. But I’ve been bombarded for over a year now with hits from friends about not knowing. Shouldn't a friend be a bit nicer?

So that is my rant. It’s something that has been bothering me for a while now and it keeps building up and coming up the father along I get into my pregnancy. I know back in the day, you had no way of finding out so no one could say “How dare you not find out and be selfish!” But in today’s society with the 4D ultrasounds {which I have never had through all three of my pregnancies but I would have liked to}, finding out the sex as early as possible is just what everyone assumes you have to find out.

I have disappointed too many people and I guess I will continue to. It’s my decision.

So, what are your thoughts on not finding out or finding out the gender? Have you been in my situation where you decided not to and got so much crap from friends about not wanting to know? I would love to hear how your dealt with it or your thoughts.

All About The Desktop

Everyone has their computer personalized to their style, needs, and just everything that suits them. I, of course, am no exception. One of my favorite things about personalizing my computer is choosing a desktop image/theme that reflects me. Who doesn't love that part?

You can learn a lot by a person;s desktop image. Whether you've had the same one for months or you change it up regularly, its just fun to personalize.

Here is my current one:

I've had this one for a while. What can I say? I love Coach handbags.
