Boo, I Scared You...!!!

Yes it is indeed Halloween! Was it a fun night for you? At our house, we had a good evening. We decided this year that Trick-or-Treating wasn't a go. Our daughter was a bit upset at first but then quickly got over it when we told her she could hand out the candy all by herself this year.

She's never handed out candy before so she was super excited. Even though we only got two trick or treaters all night, she still had fun. We didn't take her out this year because of how close we are to baby time and knew I couldn't go out and walk around and then my husband couldn't leave me home by myself in case something were to happen and I needed to get to the hospital. So next year we will go out again.

So here is a breakdown of our busy day today!

This afternoon at our daughter's school, all the Kindergarten classes had a Halloween parade. The children had to dress up as their favorite character from a book and it had to be a homemade costume. So I thought it would be fun to create a costume for the book "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie". So the husband and I stayed up all night creating the look and hand sewing everything to make the costume come to life. I think it turned out really cute!

And then after the parade, we came home and got ready for Halloween. Me and my daughter made signs for the door and I hung up some of the Halloween crafts she did at school. And we put out our pumpkins the husband carved.

Yes, my daughter had to paint the small one blue. She loved painting this with so many coats of paint LOL
I got these views and faces of the pumpkins but I didn't get a photo of the kitty pumpkin which can be seen sitting up higher in the photo above.

So then the husband painted our daughter's face into something a bit more scary. She requested a scary skeleton face and so he did as she asked. I think it turned out great. Very different then her cute, innocent look from above at school:
Natalya as a skeleton scary face
Then the husband painted up my belly for the baby. So it's Baby Bean as a baby pumpkin with a blue pacifier in his mouth. How funny and cute, right? The husband is so talented.

And then Natalya wanted to join in the face painting fun since her face and my belly was done, she wanted to paint my face. So I let her and she said I'm supposed to be a football player. Oh, the joys of letting a 6 year old mess with your face!
A 6 year old's perspective on how to turn mommy into a football player
So that was our Halloween. Even though we didn't get many trick-or-treaters, the house was filled with fun by an evening of playing with face paint. Now everyone is passed out and I'm about to get all this off of me and head to bed myself. Goodnight everyone and hoped you had a fun Halloween!! I'm sure I'll be using some of these painted belly photos in my pregnancy update tomorrow.

And So It Begins....

Hey guys, you may not be hearing from me as much at least for now. As of yesterday early morning, I started the official process of labor. Well, I believe it officially started Friday but we did not have it confirmed until Saturday early morning when we went to the hospital.

As of yesterday, I am 1 cm {going on 2 cm} dilated and having contractions. They showed up on the monitor yet were too irregular yet for anything. The nurse said that some were really close together and then others were a bit too far apart.

The nurse told me that she honestly does not think I will make it to November {my due date is Nov 15} so we may be having a baby by Wednesday or earlier! I think it would be cool to have a Halloween baby! But I'm really hoping the baby stays in there at least til Thursday {Nov 1} but we shall see.

All day Friday I was having such horrible pains and contractions. Front and back ones. They were killing me. I felt as if I was dying, literally. And then my husband decided that he thought it was time to get to the hospital. It was around 1:30am Saturday we left the house to go. So of course, I was hooked up to everything to monitor the heart beat as well as the contractions and after 30 mins of being on the monitors, that's when the nurse came in and told me the statistics.

I was then sent home and spent all day yesterday literally sleeping and being in so much pain. I felt like I had been hit by a truck. It really sucked bad. So after getting lots of rest, today I feel a lot better. So much more like myself though I have been having slight contractions on and off so far today.

That Friday Blog Hop link-up will continue to run as normal since it is pre-scheduled. So everyone can still continue to link up and get the most out of finding great blogs as well as being found. But as far as posts, I may or may not be on as much until the baby comes. So bare with me :) Life is changing really fast for us at the moment and just trying to deal with it all. I feel there is so much to get done still and not feeling well, it's so hard to do it. Everyone is so exhausted around here from doing everything for me that nothing seems to be getting done LOL.

But I will try to keep up with things and just let life go with the flow! Thanks to everyone who has been such a great friend to me. I'm hoping to post some good news soon and new baby photos once he arrives!  And for those of you who follow my blog a lot, you can see I changed up the layout again. I loved the other one but just wanted a new change. So I found this one and trying it out. I'm changing up the button too. Trying to get that done while I'm still feeling up to being up on the computer.

thirty-seven weeks

Oh so I did it again! I missed last week's bumpdate but I had a good reason. So this will be another two in one. Last week and this week.

Last week my parents were here visiting and I thought I was would be able to get in the post but I was always so exhausted after the end of each day,  I never got around to putting it up. But it was another milestone.

I had a good time with them while they were here. So much went on. I haven't had that much excitement in forever. It really wore me out and I was doing more then I should have been on bed rest. But I'm really taking it easy now that they had to go back home.

There was lots of shopping going on and my daughter's sixth birthday party. Can you believe it? She turned six years old on October 19th. She's getting so big. Doesn't seem like it's been that many years. I'm actually starting to feel a bit old. Is 30 years old, old? I have so much grey hair popping up I feel old. I know this is a pregnancy update but I had to share these photos:
Doesn't she look adorable all dressed up in her Monster High costume? We made it a bowling costume party. All the kids had a blast and dressed up. It was lots of fun! I just had to share that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, onto the pregnancy updates. Since I missed last week's update, I said I hit a milestone with 36 weeks. That means I hit the nine month mark! Awesome and so exciting. I was loving that. Seems like it took forever to reach that point. But we did. Here was last week's photos and info:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And now that brings us to today's weekly update of 37 weeks! Funny thing is, I was wearing the same shirt last week and this week for the photos. Kind of funny. But different pants at least LOL. I feel this week the baby looks like it dropped a whole lot! Like the belly is HUGE!!!!
So as most of you probably saw, this past Sunday was our Gender Reveal Shower. We waited until almost 37 weeks to find out if the baby would be a little boy or little girl. Well, the time came and we found out. If you haven't checked it out yet, go HERE to see the photos and the reveal. I think it was a fun party.

I had my weekly doctor's appointment today was well. It was quick, in and out basically. He checked the heartbeat, measured my belly and gave me the results to the Group B Strep test I had to take last week. He said since I'm not really showing any hard core signs of labor just yet, next week will be when I get checked out to see if my cervix has dilated any and where we are in progression.

How far along? 37 weeks pregnant! (9 months) Baby due November 15. Officially considered "full-term" now!
Total weight gain/measurements: I gained 1 pound since last update {+22 all together}
Size Of Baby: Winter Melon (about 19 inches long, 6 lbs)

Sleep: Sleeping often and lots of naps yet still always exhausted.
Maternity clothes: Yes. But now that I'm not working, my clothes have been
"comfy clothes" and no longer have to dress up and look pretty for work. I'm a bum at home.
Stretch marks? I have now gotten some but they aren't horribly bad. Mostly around the surgery incision.
Best moment this week: We found out the gender of the baby!
Miss anything? I miss being comfortable and breathing normal and not being sick all the time. Morning sickness has come on and off lately. Pregnancy this late in the game now is sooo miserable most of the time.
Movement: Yes, lots of pressure & movement almost all the time now.
Cravings?: No, nothing really. Strange, huh?
Anything making you queasy or sick? I just get so nauseous it seems from anything now.
Labor signs: Only having lots of cramping, cervical pains, back pains, very frequent urination, increased fatigue, boob leakage.
Symptoms: I've been getting the symptoms listed above as well as leg cramps in my thighs a lot lately.
Belly button in or out? It seems like it's pretty much on the verge of being out now.
Happy or moody most of the time: I've been feeling more happy this week. Not as emotional.
Baby related purchases?: Still haven't "bought" anything with our own money yet for baby. Just with some giftcards we got.
Looking forward to: Next week's doctor visit and getting ready for Halloween. We are staying home this year since I will be too far along to be out but it will be fun to let our daughter dress up and hand out candy.

And one more note! I always had asked that people go to my sidebar and vote on the baby's gender. Now that it has been revealed, I'm now excited and created a form to predict when the baby will finally arrive. I would love it if you stopped by and voted!
If you need some background, my daughter was two weeks early and so far, I haven't shown any signs just yet of being dilated.

Fill out my online form.

And The Gender Is ....

So this past Sunday was our big Gender Reveal Shower. It was fun but boy was I tired. Stayed up all night helping my friend and sister-in-law finish up everything. I think we only got about three hours of sleep before getting up again and putting the finishing touches together.

It was held at my house where there were fourteen people. That's a lot considering my place is super tiny. But we all survived. I wish I had been looking better that day. I looked exhausted and like a hot mess. But the show still went on. Here's photos from the party and the big excitement to reveal what we were having. Was it another girl or were we having a boy?

The really cute invite my best friend created. I whited out phone numbers and addresses.

The adorable banner she made me as well. He Or She? What Will It Be?

The cake & candy bar setting. Pink & blue streamers, balloons, and pom poms.

The veggie/meat platter table

Hand painted Hersey Bars "HE" and "SHE". Yes, I hand painted over the letters myself

Mustache & Bow Straws. People got to choose which one they thought the baby would be.

The children's activity during the shower.
My mom helping the kids make their own Lego crayons.

The very cute cake. Inside holds what the baby will be!

Cutting into the cake to see!

And it's BLUE! We are having a.....

We played lots of games at the shower and I got some really nice gifts! I don't have photos though at the moment of that. But in another post, I'll have to show off the awesome gifts I got.
But here was the last activity we did. I have everyone color on sandpaper with crayons an image for a onesie. Then I am going to iron-on the images and have a super cute onesie for the baby to wear and of course, it was made by special people in my life. I got the idea HERE. These were just a few of the many designs I have to sit and iron-on.

At the end of the shower, I had each guest fill one of these containers with all different kinds of candy to take home from the Candy Bar we had set-up. There were six different types to choose from. This was just an entire container of M&Ms I had leftover after the party.

So here was the ultrasound photo that was included in the envelope to give to the cake baker. It says it's a boy and so that's what it seems to be. I also now just tried the Chinese Gender Prediction chart and it says a boy as well. Has anyone else done this and it turned out to be true?

So this was the final count from the poll I talked about weekly that was on my sidebar and mentioned in my pregnancy updates. It ended up to 100 votes and looks like the underdog won. 43 people were right!

This photo was taken a few days before the shower but I really like it. Me and the husband excited about the new addition that will be coming soon.
